Night Time Shots

So I wanted to attempt to take some cool night time shots. I will post one here, and then I got the beining of a star trail on one, but I need to find a more secluded place and leave the bulb setting on for longer.

I am pretty happy for my first attempt. I will try to do some more in the future and I will let oyu know how they turn out.

Daily Challenge #20 Movement

Weekly Challenge #4 Playing Cards

Playing Cards and Modeling Clay

The next challenge will drive home depth-of-field. Some kids modeling clay and a deck of cards.
Place a ball of clay, about 1/2 inch in diameter on the floor. With a tape measure, space 9 additional balls of clay 12 inches apart. The idea is a line of clay balls (straight line). Use some care laying this out. It's OK
once you get a feel for what we are doing to use more clay and make a longer line. Each balls of clay is to receive a playing card, the clay is the base to hold the card upright.

Now you have a line of playing cards, focus on the center card. Compose so that all the cards show up in the photo. A camera on a tripod works best. Focus with care on the center card. Now shoot a series using every f/stop. The shutter speed will change for each shot. This challenge will give you a better feel for depth-of-field. Note that depth of field extents 2/3 away from the card focused upon and 1/3 back towards the camera.

Here are some of my pictures that I took (I will note the f/stop that was used) .

f/1.8
f/4.0
f/9

f/22

You can definitely tell the depth difference in the depth of field.

Week #3 Critique
Glad you got it! The only other way is a dulling spray that is difficult to
apply and difficult to remove

Here are some of my favorite pictures from today. We went to the Phoenix Zoo, it was a blast!
